Owned and run by Alex Morcom, Shakespeare Cliff Lodge is a family enterprise that makes the most of land that has been in the Morcom name for three generations. Shakespeare Cliff Lodge takes its name from one of the landmarks in the area, the remarkable Shakespeare Cliff, which dominates the local landscape. The cliff was named by Captain Cook when he visited Mercury Bay in 1769 to observe the transit of Mercury across the sun.
The Lodge is a unique venue that focuses on providing its guests with a luxurious stay; wrapping the special character of the Coromandel Peninsula and the people of the area, into something you can’t get anywhere else. Shakespeare Cliff delivers a 5 star experience that encompasses beautiful surroundings, a truly special part of New Zealand.
